I have a crush on this gal.  Curse my shyness, curse it!

I went to Central PA over the weekend. Central PA is just like NE PA, except Central PA has more than just a Walmart and other boring stuff.  Apparently copper stealing is big all over the state.  The pole in front of my parents house was hit last week.  The took just the ground wire, of course.  Not every pole has a ground wire, so it was probably a busy night for them.  Meth must be a hell of a drug.

Oh, yeah Central PA is a tad different than NE PA.  Central PA is in no way ,shape or form going to vote for a black man,  I think I saw one Obama sign, east of I81, and that was probably a mistake.  When I see signs like "Families for McCain" and Woman for McCain Palin" I just wanna puke.

Did you hear that on November 1, Martial law goes in to affect?

Now on to more serious items.

Sunday when I was getting ready to head back to NE PA, I went to visit my grandmother.  She's uh, 87, just turned, a few weeks ago, and I walk in to the house and hear "I'm in the kitchen, I've fallen."  She was actually in the dining room, under the table.  She had, according to her recollection been at the kitchen sink, turned around to get her walker and didn't realize it was not so close, and she fell.  She then scooted to the dining room and worked herself under the table. This is the second time she's fallen in a week.  She was unhurt, she just couldn't get back up.  I moved the table a bit and lifted with my back and not my knees to get her back on her feet.  That ended as well as you would think it would, I pulled a muscle.  I did get her up and she was fine once she locked her knees.  I asked if she was dizzy, but she claimed she was not.  My back is feeling a lot better than yesterday but I am worried about her.  She doesn't live alone, and my Mom visits often during the day.  Getting old sucks.

This coming Saturday I'll be back in Central PA for a wedding..  Second time's the charm I hear, although the bride is just heading into her first marriage.  What is the protocol, do I have to get a wedding gift?  Should I just say hey split the first one I gave ya?  I'm still not yet decided on attending Mass.  All my friends seem to be Catholic and well, I know all to weel how long that ceremony lasts.  it's really funny when they try to tell me it'll be a quick half hour dealie.  Uh.  No.  Lying is a sin.  But I do sorta like the religious aspect of it all, even if I am not all that religious.  Service is at 1PM, reception is at 4PM.  My room at the adjoining hotel has a check in time of 3PM.  I dunno, I'm undecided.

Operation new resume:  meh.  This past weekend busy.  This coming weekend, busy.  Tomorrow night I have to go shopping.  Tonight was quality time with the heat pack and my bed.  I did find a template that I may play around with, so that's a start I guess.

Near bed time, so post this.

The fall alarms that come as pendant ? Hooked into the phone, they automatically call you, or 911 with a single press of the button.

Something like this.

I'd think calling my Mom would be best, since she's right next door

You may want to work on that resume soon by miker2 (4.00 / 1) #2 Tue Oct 07, 2008 at 06:40:11 AM EST
The job market is pretty hot right now (in the Philly area at least) but it'll cool down from a week before Thanksgiving until after the new year.  So unless being where you are until February isn't so bad, I'd get on that shit ASAP.

The beginning of the year would allow for more flexibility, but I really should at least be in the market right now.

I'm disappointed by littlestar (2.00 / 0) #3 Tue Oct 07, 2008 at 08:57:04 AM EST
You pulled me in with crushes and shyness, then, there was no more.... I wanted to hear of the giggles and shuffling feet. Oh well...

You should get your granny one of those emergency buttons. So, she can wear it around her neck, then if something happened and she needed help, she pushes the button and emergency people are called. Seems like a good idea anyway... I don't know how well they actually work or anything.

Just remember there is nothing to be lost by being a charming forward man. We never know until we ask.

I can be charming, but the forward, that's the rough one.
