I do believe that is actual sunshine.

Fondue season is pretty much over. Asparagus season has begun. I do not like asparagus but fortunately this season also means it is almost nice enough to sit outside. Zürich and Dublin have roughly similar rainfall, but Zürich has more dry days. Which means when it rains, it really rains but when it is dry it is lovely. Also, I do not seem to be allergic to Swiss hyacinths or daffodils (yet). Hurrah.

Yesterday I spent two hours sorting through paper recycling. Visitors trying to be helpful tend to err on the side of caution wrt. recycling. Tissues are not appropriate, nor is plastic or polystyrene. Plus staples should be removed. Receipts for items bought with credit or debit cards should not be recycled unobfustcated.I now have two large bundles of paper neatly tied with string and the remaining pile now fits in the basket properly. I hate that job so much that I rewarded myself with a small whisky. I will have a go at the rest of it in another two weeks.

Still not sleeping properly. Pleh. Coldsore adds to the pile of minor physical misery. In order to fight it, I have signed up for a weights programme advice session at the gym. This will give me something better to do than sitting home alone watching bad TV.

Pork chop for dinner. I had the first one earlier this week topped with sage and pecorino and served with pasta. I have not decided what to do with this one yet. Perhaps rosemary and some potatoes in the oven.

I wish I could go home to bed. I am being very bad and rude and speaking english a lot in work this week because I feel so meh.

My first job in the UK .... by Tonatiuh (2.00 / 0) #1 Sat May 10, 2008 at 03:01:30 AM EST
.... I was surrounded by Glaswegians, which I am sure you know, have perhaps the strongest accented English in the British Isles.

So I used to speak Spanish to myself when I was frustrated for my lack of understanding of what was being said.
